• 05/11/07 – Utility Week – 'Magnum Opus'                                                                      Charlie Crossley Cook, Managing Director of Opus Energy talks to Utility Week about Opus Energy’s success and growth. The article includes details of the £5 million, Smart Meter investment, which enables Opus Energy to offer these for free to customers. Charlie highlights 'I expect there will be three levels of user. The first will just want the accurate bills , the second will look at the consumption data and see where they can make improvements, and the third will take the next step and look at changing tariffs"
• 05/11/07 – Utility Week –  ‘One Minute Interview’                                                        Valpy Fitzgerald, Risk Manager reveals all in the question and answer session, for example: "What album is currently in your car CD play? My bicycle helmet headset is tuned in to Radio 4"
• 23/10/07 - Encyclopedia.com - "County to power up with green energy"                                This online article reports that all Cumbria County Council offices' energy is now supplied from renewable sources. The article highlights that Cumbria's energy deal is broken down into two parts, "the second contract is through Opus Energy and covers all other county council corporate sites (a separate contract covering non-corporate sites such as schools is currently in operation), plus all 22 Lake District National Park sites, 55 Carlisle City Council sites and 10 in Copeland. Furthermore, Opus Energy also offered to install smart metering into all premises at no additional cost - a saving of £55,000."

• 10/09/07 – Utility Week – 'Public worried about the impact of energy use'                         The monthly utility focused publication highlighted that more than 80% of Londoners are concerned about the amount of energy they use and the environmental impact however only 25% knew about Smart Meters existence. They called for raising the awareness of Smart Meters and praised Opus Energy’s investment.
