Gas Leaks

It is important to follow these steps if you smell gas or think you may have a gas leak:

1. Call the 24 hour National Gas Service Emergency Helpline on 0800 111 999
2. Opening all doors and windows
3. Do not use anything electrical, including light switches or naked flames
4. Turn off the gas supply at the meter – do not turn this on again until you are sure it is safe to do so
5. Do not smoke or strike matches
6. Do not try and investigate the problem or attempt to fix a leak or a faulty appliance
